Saildrone unmanned vessels registered under Danish flag (opens in a new tab)
Saildrone has registered four Voyager unmanned surface vehicles (USVs) under the Danish flag, marking the first national flag-state framework for its uncrewed vessels. The Danish Maritime Authority (DMA) collaborated with Saildrone to develop regulations for USV operations, enabling long-duration missions like maritime monitoring and surveying. Denmark’s certification highlights its role in advancing maritime technology through initiatives like the DMA Regulatory Future Lab. Saildrone plans to expand its Danish-flagged fleet, including additional USV models, to support European operations.
