Ocius Technology Signs Contract to Verify Bluebottle USVs for Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (opens in a new tab)
Ocius Technology signed a contract to verify its Bluebottle uncrewed surface vessels (USVs) for Japan’s Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF). The solar, wind, and wave-powered USVs enhance maritime domain awareness with long-endurance, cost-effective surveillance above and below the ocean surface. The verification program strengthens collaboration between Australia and Japan on regional maritime security. The vessels will be built at Ocius Technology’s Sydney facility, following a $176 million Australian government investment in 2026 to expand Bluebottle production.
